About Sara

Have you ever seen a young person covered on the inside with years dirt and rain start to cry because you thanked him for who he is, and how his expression of truth helped the world? In the felt-sense of "you matter" arriving?  

Have you ever seen someone who has been through hopeless and overwhelm beyond your imagining stand, finally, and for the first time, in their own power with joy in community?

My 20+ years of experience with human service agencies has been focused on working with staff, youth, and communities to create ecosystems of care grounded in culture.  My work has included wilderness counseling, helping youth end intergenerational abuse cycles and move out of homelessness, supporting non-profit staff with their own well-being and empowered thought processes in service of our community well-being, and program development aligning mission with policy and and meaningful action.

I facilitate community groups to co-create new thresholds of co-becoming in life affirming ground. In the experience of the world at this time of climate change, war and genocide, AI, and all that removes us from our sacred roots, my passion is to hold space for authentic, culturally grounded presence to arrive in reciprocity, in a humble, vital generosity of being.

I am an author who offers poetry as an invitation to collective voice...a traveling place of what we know into what we have not yet imagined yet is waiting at the edges of our knowing, our innate wisdoms ready to leap and play.

I earned a Master’s of Education in Adult and Higher Education from Western Washington University and am a Counseling Intern as I work towards my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hold Certifications in Healing-Centered Engagement with Dr. Shawn Ginwright, and Advanced Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness with David Treleaven to enhance what I can bring into individual and community healing work.

I am a 4th generation Norwegian, Italian, German American who knows of home in the meeting place of mountains and ocean. My own lived experiences of ability/disability, identity, race,  and culture helps inform how I invite everyone in. My work is to uplift community and integrate practices of continuous learning and interconnection.
